A community, at the heart of Bangor
for over 125 years.
We are a community of ordinary men, women, young people and children who have experienced the transformational power of Jesus’ love in our lives. Amazingly, God’s gift of life — full of love, joy and peace — has come to us through the death of His Son, Jesus. Jesus is alive today and offers this gift of life to all who come to Him.
Bangor Parish Church is led by our rector and staff team, with responsibility for finance and our buildings being overseen by the Select Vestry, who are elected each year at our AGM. Nigel Parker came to us in 2004 when he was appointed Rector. As part of the Church of Ireland we belong to the Diocese of Down and Dromore, a group of over 70 parishes, overseen by Bishop David McClay.
